Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You Can't AffordNow
Chapter 177 Give Her Back
To Me
Eric's expression turned sharp. “Talk now!”
Phillips shifted uneasily, finally speaking, “The taxi... They've located it.”
“What about Hadley?”
Reluctantly, Phillips shook his head. “Still no sign of her.”
Rage erupted instantly within Eric. “Then why are you even bothering to tell me?”
Embarrassed, Phillips stared silently at the floor, unable to defend himself.
Denver, however, noticed something alarming in their conversation. “Are you saying Hadley is missing?”
This was why Eric had chere he was searching for Hadley?
Observing Denver's startled response, Eric realized immediately that Hadley wasn’t here after all.
“Phillips, we're leaving.”
“Yes, Mr. Flynn.”
“Hold it right there!”
But Denver wouldn't let him walk away easily this time; he grasped Eric's shoulder firmly, asking “What exactly
happened to Hadley?”
Witnessing Eric’s frantic state reminded Denver suddenly of their heated confrontation earlier that day-hadn’t he
and Eric just exchanged harsh words over her?
Anger flared uncontrollably inside Denver, shattering all caution. “Eric! Did you do something to Hadley? Did you
hurt her?”
Silently, Eric turned his head aside, neither confirming nor denying
Though he'd never exactly laid a hand on her, Eric knew the pain he’d inflicted was just as damaging.
“You!”
Denver's patience snapped completely, and he hissed furiously, “Eric, you bastard!”
Denver grabbed Eric by the collar, his anger boiling over. “You're pathetic! How dare you raise your hand against
Hadley?”
Immediately, Denver's fist crashed toward Eric's face.

“Mr. Flynn!”
Eric absorbed the punch without flinching, and blood began to trickle from the corner of his mouth as Denver's
fist made contact.
Phillips rushed forward, desperate to intervene. “Mr. Moran, please calm down!”
But calming down was the last thing on Denver's mind.
“Get off me!”
Despite Denver's efforts, Phillips‘ firm grip and his own injuries kept him from advancing on Eric.
His gaze bore into Eric, voice trembling with fury. “Did you hit her? You actually did that? How could you?”
Hadley-the one person he cherished deeply, someone he'd never even raised his voice at despite everything
she'd put him through.
Blood stained Eric’s fingers as he wiped his mouth.
Confrontationally, Eric grabbed Denver's collar, retorting, “Had you not interfered constantly, would we ever be
in this mess?”
Denver stared, momentarily speechless, but then laughed bitterly. “Ha... hahaha...”
The laughter vanished abruptly, replaced by eyes burning, red. “Tell me, Eric-is your real issue mistrusting
Hadley, or is it yourself you can’t trust?”
What was Denver implying?
Denver's expression darkened. “She slipped on the snow and hit her head last night, knocking herself out, and |
took her straight to the hospital. | stayed beside her until dawn. Call them yourself if you think I'm lying!”
Denver's voice resonated with accusation. “If you treat her like shit, what's the point in fighting me? If you can’t
care for her properly, then letdo it instead!”
“Dream on!”
Eric loosened his hold, shoving Denver away.
A cold smirk crossed his lips. “She belonged tofirst. She belongs tonow. And guess what? She'll always
belong to me.”
He turned and walked away with determination.
“Eric, you heartless bastard! What sort of person acts this way?”
Once they were in the car, Phillips’ phone rang again, causing his expression to darken.
“Alright, | understand.”
He turned to Eric, his face etched with concern.
Impatient, Eric asked impatiently, “What is it?”
“Right!” Phillips stammered, gathering courage. “They located the taxi driver. Turns out... he recently got
released from prison.”

Released from prison? A former convict?
A wave of frustration washed over Eric.
His eyes narrowed dangerously. “What was he convicted for?”
“Sexual assault.”
Phillips swallowed hard as a chilling aura enveloped him, emanating from Eric.
Eric remained silent, his frustration evident as he rhythmically tapped his chin.
Then he suddenly asked, “Where is he now?”
“His shift ended and he had returned the taxi. They're still tracking him.”
“Then get moving!”
“Yes, sir!”
With an aggravated sigh, Eric massaged his temples, the veins bulging visibly as dread and fury mixed inside
him.
“Phillips, get the police on this.”
But Phillips hesitated, and then admitted, “Mr. Flynn, the police might not accept the case.”
A menacing look crossed Eric's eyes. “Am | supposed to do your job now? Seems I've made things far too easy
for you.”
“No, sir!”
He sat up straight, knowing better than to counter Eric.
Typically, the police would dismiss such a case. However, Eric seemed prepared to leverage his influence to force
their hands. But was his concern excessive?
Think about Hadley-independent and strong-willed, she had chosen to leave on her own. Besides, it had been
less than twelve hours since they last heard from her.
Despite his reservations, Phillips dialed the number.
After ending the call, his eyes met Eric’s in the reflection of the rearview mirror. “Mr. Flynn.”
“What is it this time?”
Feeling the weight of the moment, Phillips gestured to the back. “It appears Mr. Moran is tailing us.”
A quick glance in the mirror confirmed Eric's suspicions: Denver's high-end silver-gray car maintained a close
distance behind them!
News of Eric’s search for Hadley also reached the Flynn family.
When he arrived, Linda was scrutinizing the financials for the month, a role she had fulfilled for years within the
Flynn family.

After approving the documents, she passed them to Kira
“Please proceed with these transactions.”
“Understood, Miss Harris.”
The mood in the living room was tense.
“Oh dear.” Nyla, troubled, addressed Eric while massaging her temples. “This is disheartening, just when things
were looking up. If anything happens to Hadley, you won't be forgiven.”
Eric opted not to justify his actions, instead turning to Ernest. “Ernest, | need to speak with Quentin.”
Ernest looked equally serious, giving a slow nod. “Very well”
Although Ernest had spent years in a coma, Quentin had remained active. Quentin was not just an employee, he
was someone Ernest had once rescued. He was dinging to life when they discovered him
In the criminal underworld, Quentin's expertise was unrivaled
“Thank you, Ernest.”
Eric got to his feet, preparing to leave.
“Where do you think you're going?” Nyla grabbed him. “All preparations are in place. There's no need to rush
around!”
“I can’t just sit here, Grandma.”
“Sit down!”
It was Ernest who commanded.
A hush fell over everyone, they turned to face him. Ernest's expression was grave, his frustration barely
contained. “Only now you feel the urgency?”
*Ernest...” Eric trailed off, his head dropping.
“Humph, Ernest scoffed, disdain in his tone. “Did | teach you to behave like this?” He paused momentarily. “What
a complete mess!”
At that, Eric found himself at a loss for words. He realized he had indeed turned everything into a complete
mess!
Nyla and Linda shared a look, choosing to remain silent.
Linda’s gaze lingered on Ernest, her heart heavy.
It was the first outburst since his recovery. And it was towards his most beloved brother!
Surely, it had everything to do with Hadley.
Could Ernest be terribly worried about her as well?
