Chapter 105
Harvey glanced at Landon, then around the restaurant, and it suddenly hit him.
Landon still had a thing for Eloise!
He lit a cigarette and asked, "Here to pick up Blake?"
Landon gave a faint smile. He had seen it all.
Landon moved over to Harvey and, after drawing a breath from his cigarette, he said with a chuckle, "I was
actually planning to take Eloise home, but since you're here, | guess I'm not needed. Don't tellyou were on a
date with that famous widow, and got busted by Eloise?"
Harvey frowned, "Stop talking nonsense!"
Although he was only a few years older than Landon, his position commanded respect, and Landon could only
tease him.
Landon looked back into the restaurant. He didn't say anything more, just quietly smoked his cigarette.
When he finished, he said quietly, "Harvey, I'm serious. Let her be withif you don't truly love Eloise."
Harvey's fingers trembled slightly as he held his cigarette.
The city's neon lights reflected off Landon's youthful face, making it flicker between light and shadow. With
determination far beyond his years, he declared, "I want her!"
After saying this, Landon swallowed hard, not looking at Harvey again, and walked straight into the restaurant.
Harvey stood there, finishing his cigarette, and let out a cold laugh.
When he went back into the restaurant, Landon was already sitting next to Blake, not saying a word, just
watching Blake and Eloise chat. His eyes were full of affection.
Harvey was a man, and although his relationship with Eloise was purely physical, seeing her desired by another
man always made him uneasy.
Harvey sat down next to Eloise.
The moment he sat down, Eloise felt a warm breath on her ear, a mix of

aftershave and cigarette smoke. It smelled good.
"Want anything else to eat?" asked Harvey gently.
With Landon present, he was slightly showing off.
Eloise wasn't a fool. She knew what he was doing. Landon was her friend, and he had helped her out. She didn't
want to make him feel awkward in public, nor did she want to create a spectacle for others.
She wiped her mouth with a napkin and stroked Blake's head.
"I need to go hnow. See you the day after tomorrow!"
Not understanding the world of adults, Blake obediently said, "OK, Ms. Laurent! I'll practice the piano well."
Eloise thanked Landon again.
Landon replied casually, "No need to thank me, as long as Blake is happy."
He also stroked Blake's head.
The warmth of Eloise's fingertips still lingered there. Landon squinted slightly, enjoying it.
Harvey gave him a look, stood up, grabbed his coat, and went to pay the bill. Eloise didn't rush to pay. He
respected her enough.
Once they were in the car, Harvey placed his hands on the steering wheel, turned to her, and asked casually,
"How did you end up going to a concert with Blake? What could you possibly chat about with a child?"
Eloise understood his meaning. He didn't want her to be friends with Landon.
Harvey had indeed done a lot for her, and it was only right that she returned the favor. However, if being with
Harvey meant hurting her friend, Eloise didn't want that.
She said softly, "Harvey, if you can have dinner dates with female clients, then | can have dinner with my
student. Landon is just Blake's brother."
This was Harvey's first ttruly experiencing Eloise's temper, and for a moment, he was stunned.
Eloise was also in pain.
Since being with Harvey, he had treated her well, so well that she had forgotten the terms of their arrangement.
She could understand him working late. But she also knew that he could choose other times for nights like this
one. He had canceled their date at the last minute because he didn't value her; he saw her as a woman to sleep
with.
A seemingly insignificant event brought Eloise back to reality.
Only now did she understand, that night when she asked him whether to tell Orlena about her past with Max,
Harvey had said casually, "No need."
Yes, there really was no need.
Because Eloise wasn't part of his life plan, their relationship was temporary and could end when he got tired. It
was she who had overestimated herself.
Eloise was proud of herself. From start to finish, she had never lost her composure.
Harvey listened quietly.
Eloise made sense, and he agreed, but he felt uncomfortable.
After a moment of silence, Harvey said calmly, "Okay, | was wrong."
He gently pressed the accelerator and started the car.
The atmosphere in the car was heavy during the ride, and neither of them initiated the conversation.
When they got back to the apartment, Harvey went into the study.
He didn't have any work to do; he just wanted to be alone in his study.
Once he had calmed down, two sentences from Landon kept running through his mind.
"I'm serious. Let her be withif you don't truly love Eloise."
"I want her."
Harvey really liked Eloise, but he never considered a future with her. He was already 28, and with his status, he
could have had a wife and children by now.
Would Eloise accept Landon if they broke up in the future?

Harvey was made uncomfortable by this possibility, but he had no outlet for his feelings. He stayed up late and
only went back to the bedroom when it was very late.
Eloise was already asleep, with only a small night light casting a fuzzy glow.
Harvey didn't even feel like showering. He lay down next to her.
Eloise was lying on her side, not reacting. But he knew she wasn't asleep, so he hugged her from behind and
kissed her at the base of her ear.
If it were any other time, Eloise would have been quickly moved by his kisses, but this tshe felt nothing.
She didn't resist, even turning to meet his advances. She fulfilled her obligation, satisfying him.
Harvey had a higher libido than most men, and since being with Eloise, he wanted her almost every night.
Despite the unpleasantness of the evening, it did not affect his desire.
But when his emotions started to ramp up, he noticed Eloise was spacing out. Her face was buried in the pillow,
lost in thought.
"What are you thinking about?" Harvey, a bit miffed, asked in a whisper as he wrapped his arms around her and
kissed her.
Eloise opened her bleary eyes.
She pondered for a moment before softly saying, "lI was thinking about what to make for breakfast tomorrow."
Harvey's gaze was intense, watching her for a while.
Then, he suddenly rolled over next to her, stayed for a while, then got up and headed towards the bathroom,
"Whatever works! You decide!"
Eloise gently pulled her pajamas right.
It wasn't long before the sound of water echoed from the bathroom. Harvey was taking a shower, staying in
there for about 20 minutes before coming out, his body all damp and cold.
The light was turned off, and Eloise gently closed her eyes in the darkness.
She knew he wouldn't hold her again tonight, which was fine.
When she was sound asleep, Harvey whispered into her ear, "Eloise, | overstepped by meddling in your
relationship with Landon, and you being mad atis also crossing a line."
Eloise opened her eyes, her face expressionless, and asked quietly, "Do you still want some?"
