Chapter 39

Elysia stated, “Miss, grades aren't the only way to measure someone's worth. | believe they, just like me, have a

bright future ahead.”

Her words hit everyone like a ton of bricks! For them, it was a revelation. Never before had someone

acknowledged their potential. Today marked the first tthey heard someone say they could have a future.

Sure, their families might have sbackground, but in a place like Milton School, which prioritized grades

above all else, academic performance was everything.

These students were used to being called “failures,” and the idea of a promising future felt worlds away from

them. What even was a future? They had no clue.

All they knew was that if they didn’t do well, they could just go hand inherit their family’s wealth-living

comfortably wouldn't be an issue. If Elysia had known what they were thinking, she would've probably said,

“Con, can’t you guys aim a bit higher?”

The Language and Composition teacher interjected sharply, “You say they have potential? Okay, where exactly is

it? Without good grades, how will they ever get into a decent college?

“Right, | almost forgot! They have family connections, huh? That means they can study abroad. But that’s all

they have left, right? What more is there?”

The teacher was genuinely angry, shocked that Elysia, who had just transferred to Class 6, would choose to side

with the other students and criticize

her.

“This class is over!” She tossed her textbook aside and stormed out of the classroom.

Everyone was left dumbfounded. She really just walked out?

A short while later, the homeroom teacher arrived and called for Elysia to step outside.

The students exchanged worried glances.

“What do you think the homeroom teacher wanted with Elysia?”

“She’s a good student, so it can’t be anything too serious.”

“But she just got here, and she made the teacher storm out! How can that not be a big deal?”

“If it’s any consolation, at least she doesn’t look down on us, unlike speople...” one of the boys remarked,

glancing pointedly toward a certain spot near the door.

Grace, who had been the target of that glance, kept her head down. She'd originally been in Class 2, but after

failing the last exam, she'd been transferred to Class 6.

She had always believed she was different and had vowed to work hard to get back to Class 2. Unfortunately,

her recent exam results had left much to be desired.

“There really is a huge gap between them,” someone in the group noted.

Ava, sitting nearby, listened to their chatter and felt increasingly anxious. Elysia was nothing like them; she was

tougher and could brush off criticism.

But Elysia was also smarter than anyone and stunningly beautiful. If she ever faced criticism, it would be utterly

unfair!

And this whole situation had stemmed from their own actions. No way she was gonna let Elysia take the blame!

Ava thought, determined to rescue her friend. She jumped to her feet and headed for the door.

But when she reached the office, she didn’t see the scene she was expecting-Elysia getting scolded. Instead,

everything seemed calm and cordial. What was going on? After thinking it through, Ava decided it would be

better to hide first and assess the situation before rushing in to save Elysia

As she leaned against the wall to observe, a familiar figure strolled by. It was Eric!

Was that guy really going to charge in and confront the homeroom teacher? She quickly reached out and pulled

Eric back.

Eric felt someone gripping him tightly from behind and was a bit annoyed. When he turned around and saw it

was Ava, he pulled his hand back

saying, “What are you doing?!”

“Shh! Why are you so worked up? Let's just check out the situation first before barging in!” Ava whispered. When

she noticed Eric still standing there, she tugged on him again. “Move behind me, okay? It's about taking turns!”

“I don’t wanna!” Eric retorted, turning back and standing in front of her.

Ava rolled her eyes, too tired to argue. Right now, they needed to figure out what was happening inside. She

pressed her ear against the wall, straining to listen.

Their homeroom teacher said, “Elysia, welcto Class 6. But | have to ask, why did you choose our class? With

your grades, Class 1 would've been the obvious choice.”

Elysia replied, “Actually, a lot of people have told you the sthing. Yeah, if we're talking about the academic

environment, Class 1 is definitely the better choice. But that kind of atmosphere doesn’t helpmuch, so it

doesn’t really matter to me.

“And honestly, | think Class 6 is great. Sure, they may not be the most studious, but they're kind and supportive.

That's something | just don’t see in Class 1. Plus, | think dividing people based on grades is way too narrow-

minded.”

The teacher nodded, clearly agreeing with her viewpoint. As the homeroom teacher of Class 6, he had never

looked down on the students in his class.

From what he gathered, it was clear that Elysia shared his thoughts.

But as a student, her main job was still to learn. He hadn't called her over to reprimand her; he had something

he needed her help with.

After clearing his throat, he finally said, “I just received notice that if Class 6 keeps performing like this, we might

get shut down.”

“What do you needto do?” Elysia asked.

The teacher looked at her with interest, realizing she was quite perceptive. “If Class 6's overall ranking improves

by the next exam, the school will reconsider this decision.”

Elysia raised an eyebrow. “So, we need to boost their grades before the next test?”

“Exactly. But achieving that won't be easy. That's why I'm hoping you can helpget the others’ scores up in a

short time.”

“Absolutely.”

Eric and Ava exchanged glances at this, and neither of them spoke up.

Meanwhile, Class 6 was still loud and rowdy. When Elysia walked in, she noticed a girl being surrounded by a few

boys. The girl had an oval face, wore black-rimmed glasses, and had her hair in two braids, looking quite plain.

The boys were hurling insults at her, and seven pushed her around. She seemed terrified and completely

flustered.

The other students nearby were merely watching the chaos unfold, showing zero intention of stepping in to help.

Suddenly, a boy shoved her to the ground, causing her head to hit the corner of a desk and a small trickle of

blood to appear. Yet, the other students just stood around, watching the unfold, seven laughing and

making snide remarks.

Her hands pressed against the floor, tears welling up in her eyes and her lips turning pale from biting down hard.

Elysia watched the scene unfold with a frown. “What are you guys doing?”

A few boys smirked at her, looking all tough and cocky. “Nothing much. She messed with me, so we're just

teaching her a lesson!”

“How did she mess with you? Is this how you teach her a lesson?” Elysia shot back.

One of the boys narrowed his eyes, a little annoyed. “Isnt this none of your business?”

Elysia raised an eyebrow. True, it wasn’t her business, but it happened in front of her, didn’t it?

“What would it take for you to let her go? A fight, maybe?” Elysia asked, her voice steady.

The boys burst into laughter at her words. “No way! This is hilarious! Elysia, you seriously gotta know your limits.

Look at you! Do you really think you can takeon?”

“Right? Even if | gave you one hand, you still wouldn't win against me!”

“Did you hear that? | suggest you stay out of this. Otherwise, we might just have to deal with you too!”

You guys are way too confident. Who knows who'll win and who'll lose?” Elysia said, a playful smirk on her face,

a hint of challenge in her voice.

“You!” One of the boys shouted, raising his hand to slap her. But just as he lifted his hand, it was caught firmly by

Eric, who glared at the boy, his anger clear. “What do you think you're doing?!”
