Chapter 518 Too Green

Harrietta flashed a mischievous grin.

It wasn't long before the hotel delivered dinner, arranging each dish neatly on the table.

Harrietta extended her small hand, passing a piece of egg tart to Bjorn. "Granddad, have an egg tart."

"Okay. Carol, you're so considerate," Bjorn said with a smile. "Make sure you eat too. Don't just fuss over me."

"Granddad, this salad is really delicious. You should try some..."

"This cheese smells delightful. Granddad, take a bite..."

Zephyr was rendered speechless.

He finally understood why Zachary was willing to risk separating from his wife just to retain custody of the little

girl.

Throughout the course of dinner, Bjorn was completely charmed by his doting granddaughter. A smile never

once left his face. Beside him, Avril was inwardly taken aback.

As the patriarch of the Wilson family, Bjorn had always presented himself as a figure of stern resolve. Only in the

presence of Meredith and Isla would he reveal a gentler expression. Even Caesare, his long-lost biological son

who had been found halfway through his life, could not elicit a single smile from Bjorn.

Unexpectedly, the sudden appearance of Isla's daughter managed to bring such joy to Bjorn.

With sympathy, Avril cast a glance at Zephyr, who was beside him.

After dinner, Harrietta announced her intention to leave, much to the reluctance of Bjorn.

Yet, he couldn't blZachary for seizing the initiative. Zachary's position in his beloved granddaughter's heart

was unrivaled and unshakeable.

The beloved granddaughter was incredibly understanding. Seeing the somber expression on Bjorn's face, she

took his hand and comforted him, "Granddad, if you missin the future, you can always cto visit me."

Bjorn was even more reluctant to part. "Carol, don't forget to discuss with your father about staying in Fairlake

for a while once you get back."

Though he told her to discuss it with Zachary, he had already made up his mind. If Zachary dared to refuse, he

would personally go and discuss it with him instead.

"1 will."

Bjorn accompanied Harrietta to the underground garage, personally seeing her off as she got into the car.

Sitting in the backseat of the car, Harrietta lowered the window and waved at Bjorn. "Goodbye, Granddad. You

should head in now."

"I'll go up after you leave," Bjorn said reluctantly, his gaze lingering on Harrietta in the car. After that, the car

window glass obstructed his view.

Bjorn's expression darkened.

Harrietta wanted to comfort Bjorn further, but unexpectedly, the car window rolled up on its own.

Harrietta paused, casting a puzzled look toward Zephyr, who was in the driver's seat up front.

Zephyr started the car, catching a glimpse of her through the rearview mirror. In a serious tone, he warned,

"You're still young. It's very dangerous to keep the car window open while driving." "Oh..."

Harrietta looked out through the one-way glass window at Bjorn's gloomy expression and understood. Uncle

Zephyr is deliberately trying to annoy Granddad!

The car drove out of the underground parking garage.

After giving it sthought, Harrietta said, "Uncle Zephyr, could | borrow your phone? | need to make a call to

Uncle Zachary."

"Uncle Zachary?"

"My daddy. I'm just used to calling him that."

Zephyr skillfully steered the wheel with one hand, pulling out his phone from his pocket. He handed it to the little

girl in the back seat and casually asked, "Do you remember your daddy's phone number?" "Of course, |

remember."

Harrietta nodded naturally and took the phone. "Uncle Zephyr, what's the unlock code?" he asked.

Zephyr recited a string of numbers.

After Harrietta entered the unlock code, she was met with a hscreen wallpaper that was out of place.

The photograph held a strong sense of nostalgia. It captured a young boy and girl standing side by side, their

youthful innocence shrouded in a subtle haze, hinting at an underlying, unspoken ambiguity.

At a glance, one could tell that the boy was Zephyr from his younger years. As for the girl next to him, Harrietta

found her familiar.

That looks like Ms. Tortell! Although

Uncle Zephyr is from Fairlake,

Great-uncle Matthew is from

Jacaster it's entirely possible that Uncle Zephyr had met Ms. Tortell during his high school years spent in Jacaster.

As Harrietta keyed in the number on the phone, she asked, "Uncle Zephyr, which school did you attend for high

school?"

Although Harrietta is indeed smart, she's still too green. That question has revealed what's on her mind! Zephyr

wasn't ready to reveal his identity to Sophia yet, so he casually said, "Glenport Friends School. What's the

matter?" That was one of the top high schools in Fairlake.

"It's nothing. I'm just making casual conversation," Harrietta answered. The resemblance between the girl in the

photo and Ms. Tortell seems merely a coincidence.

No sooner had the words been spoken than the call connected.

Zachary's impatient voice cthrough the phone. "Hello?"

"Uncle Zachary, it's me," Harrietta said in a childish voice. "This is my uncle's phone. He's currently driving me

home."

Zachary's suspended heart finally settled when he heard the familiar voice. There were so many things he

wanted to ask, yet he ended up not asking anything at all. He simply said, "All right. | will be waiting for you at

home." After hanging up the phone, Zachary informed both the kindergarten and the police before calling

Lenora.

Upon learning that Harrietta was with her uncle, Lenora finally felt at ease.

After Lenora put down her phone, Sophia finally asked, "Have they found Hattie?"

"Yes. | think her uncle picked her up after school."

Sophia harbored a deep resentment toward Isla's brother, not having a shred of liking for him. "Honestly, how

rude can he be! He took the child away without uttering a single word, not even bothering to inform you. He

caused you unnecessary worry." Lenora casually remarked, "Maybe there's something important going on?"

Although she had never met Harrietta's uncle, she had heard mention of him a few times. He didn't seem to be

the unreasonable type like Isla.

Sophia said, "Was the matter so urgent that he couldn't even spare a minute to call? Would he have died if he

had spared that one minute?"

No matter what, Sophia was indeed standing up for them. Lenora would never argue with a good friend over an

outsider. She said, "You're right. Letask Zachary later to see what's going on."

"In my opinion, it's best to limit

Hattie's interactions with those people. The more she gets involved with them, the closer she becomes

entangled with Isla. If Isla had no intentions toward Tyrant Fuller, that would be one thing. However, as you've

seen, Isla has set her sights on Zachary, and there's no telling what she might do. Besides, a family that could

raise such a daughter can't be up to any good. They might even resort to tricks to sow discord between you and

Hattie."

Initially, Sophia did not support Lenora reconciling with Zachary. However, her attitude seemed to have changed

a bit.

It was as if an insignificant, dispensable object had caught the attention of someone one disliked. Suddenly, one

would feel that the object held svalue and decided not to discard it anymore. "Let them be. I've cto

terms with it now."

Lenora no longer wished to engage

in endless disputes or suffer the anxiety of gaining and losing over a man. Otherwise, upon learning about

Harrietta's identity, she wouldn't have moved out on her own.

Instead, she would have firmly

demanded Zachary to send

Harrietta away.

If Isla truly managed to steal Zachary away, it only showed that Zachary's feelings weren't steadfast. Even if she

managed to stop it this time, there would always be someone like Isla in the future. Harrietta, on the other hand,

would hold a grudge. The incident where Isla pushed her into a car accident was something she would probably

find hard to forget.
