Chapter 95

Just as Izzy was about to ask them why they were there, she felt to calm down. So, instead, she smiled at

Pamella. “Miss Johnson looked at Liam, who was already observing her expression.

them and spoke. “Why don’t we join you? It'll be fun to catch up

Calen gave a small nod, his lips curling faintly. “Of course. That sounds like a great idea.”

Hearing this, Izzy felt her stomach twist. First was the restaurant then... the park. Calen was clearly up to

something! She silently gritted her teeth. The last thing she wanted was to sit through a meal with the two

people she didn’t want to see. Before Pamella could take another step, Izzy stood abruptly, pulling her hand free

from Liam's. “Actually, you can have the table,” she said, forcing a polite smile. “We've already finished eating.

You two can enjoy the view in peace.”

Pamella reached out, her perfectly manicured fingers curling around Izzy's arm before she could move. “Oh,

don’t be silly,” Pamella said sweetly. “This kind of coincidence must be fate. Why don’t we spend the day

together? It'll be more fun that way.”

Izzy tensed at the word “fate,” her forced smile faltering for a brief second. She was about to politely decline

when Calen leaned forward, casually resting his arms on the back of one of the chairs.

“She's right,” Calen said, his gaze landing squarely on Izzy. “Why not? After all, we've both moved on, haven't

we? The past doesn’t matter anymore.”

Izzy's jaw tightened. She wanted to walk away, but the smug smile on Calen’s face made it impossible to ignore

his arrogance. The man wanted to provoke her into agreeing. His smug expression, the subtle challenge in his

posture—it all made her blood simmer.

Liam stood as well, his presence immediately reminding her that she was no longer alone. His sharp gaze flicked

between Pamella and Calen, lingering on the latter for a moment too long.

Izzy exhaled through her nose, steadying herself. She met Calen’s gaze. “That's true,” she said simply. “The past

doesn’t matter.”

Pamella clapped her hands together, looking far too pleased. “Perfect! Then it’s settled. We'll all explore the park

together.”

“Sadly, we are on a date and were actually planning to do sthings together,” Izzy said. “Liam and | planned

this day to be perfect. We can’t actually let-"

Liam shifted closer to Izzy, his hand brushing lightly against her back. “Why don’t we let them join us?” he

asked.

Izzy immediately turned toward him. What was he up to this time?

Liam leaned down slightly, his breath warm against Izzy's ear as he murmured, “Trust me, a good show is

coming. Just watch and enjoy.”

Izzy shot him a skeptical look, her eyebrows furrowing. “What are you up to?” she whispered, her eyes darting

between him and the two people standing a few feet away.

Instead of answering, Liam gave her a faint smile and straightened, leaving her to figure it out for herself.

Izzy turned back to Pamella and Calen, forcing a polite expression. “But you two haven't had lunch yet. We're

already done. Are we really waiting an hour just to enjoy the park?”

Calen immediately waved off her comment, stepping forward. Launch doesn’t matter. What's important is having

fun.”

Izzy blinked, her eyes flicking to Pamella, whose overly cheerful expression faltered for a split second. The

corners of her mouth twitched downward before she quickly corrected it. 1zzy pretended not to notice.

She tilted her head. “Pamella, are you sure that’s all right?”

Pamella’s lips stretched into a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Of course! It’s no problem at all. Let's just

go enjoy the rides.”

With everyone in agreement, they made their way to the express train that would take them to the Thrill

Mountains. The train was sleek and modern, with a few padded benches inside. As they boarded, Calen quickly

slid into a seat by the window, leaving the spot next to him empty.

Pamella moved to sit beside him, but just as she was about to settle into the seat, Calen looked up at Liam.

“Hey, why don’t you let Izzy sit here? Her foot, you know. Can't have her standing for too long.”

1zzy’s mouth fell open slightly. Her foot was perfectly fine, and she could walk just fine. She glanced at Pamella,

whose face had darkened almost comically. Pamella froze mid-motion, her hand gripping the seatback tightly.

There was a brief pause before Pamella turned to Calen, her smile rigid. “Actually, | should sit. Don’t forget, | had

that skiing injury a few years ago.”

Without waiting for permission, she dropped herself into the seat, squashing Calen against the window. Her knee

jostled against his, and her pointed shoe found its way to his foot with a hard stomp.

Calen winced, his hand clutching the edge of the seat. “Right. Your skiing injury. How could | forget?” he said

flatly, scooting as far as he could toward the window to avoid further damage.

Izzy pressed her lips together to suppress a laugh, her eyes flicking to Liam, who looked far too amused by the

situation. Liam leaned down slightly toward Izzy and whispered, “Told you it'd be worth it.”

Izzy shook her head, biting the inside of her cheek to keep herself from grinning. She stepped back and

gestured. “Looks like we'll just stand here instead.” To save space, there were only a couple of benches that were

reserved for the old and the children. It would be best to just stand by the railing.

Izzy shook her head, biting the inside of her cheek to keep from grinning. She stepped back and gestured to the

space around them. “Looks like we'll just stand here instead.” The train had only a few benches reserved for the

elderly and young children, leaving them no choice but to stand by the railing.

The train swayed lightly as it picked up speed, and Liam shifted closer, his hand brushing against hers as they

both gripped the railing. “Don’t worry... I'm here,” he whispered, his voice low

the crowd, she couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle. Childish, she thought,

Pamella adjusted her position, crossing her legs and looking as if nothing had happened. Calen, meanwhile,

rubbed his foot under the seat, his jaw tight.

Upon arriving at Thrill Mountain, Liam immediately pointed toward an imposing structure ahead. “Look, The

Flash,” he said, nodding at the ride.

Izzy followed his gaze, her eyes widening as she took in the towering pendulum ride. The Flash was hard to miss,

with its vibrant colors and sleek design. It swung riders high through the air, adding to the ride’s intimidating

presence. It was like a chaotic mix of spinning, swinging, and defying gravity all at once.

Izzy's stomach churned slightly as she watched the pendulum swing upward, pausing for a split second before

plunging back down at a dizzying speed. “That looks... intense,” she said, her lips pressing into a thin line.

Calen stepped forward, his hands casually in his pockets. He glanced at Izzy and then at Liam, a smug

expression plastered across his face. “So, who's feeling brave enough for this one?”

“Always.” Liam didn’t hesitate.

However, Pamella was quick to cling to Calen’s arm, her other hand brushing a stray hair from her face. “I've

heard this ride is absolutely terrifying,” she said with a nervous laugh. “Not sure it’s for everyone.” She then

looked at Izzy. “Why don’t you guys enjoy it while Izzy and I-”

“Will join you,” Izzy's words interrupted Pamella. She then smirked. “Please don’t tellyou're actually scared

of heights?”

“I-" Pamella paled. She looked at Calen, who was already staring at her. “Well-I thought it might be too

dangerous and | am wearing high-heeled boots. The boys can just-"

“Then you can stay here along with Calen,” Izzy smiled as she looked at Calen. “You wouldn't actually leave your

girlfriend behind... right?”
