Chapter 90

Liam stepped in front of her, his tall frblocking the doorway as Izzy adjusted the strap of her bag. She

stopped abruptly, her eyes narrowing.

“What are you doing?” she asked. She was about to leave her office. What was he up to now?

“What was that?” he countered, his lips quirking into a faint smirk.

“You've been looking at my secretary,” she said, her eyebrow arching as she crossed her arms. “Don’t think |

didn’t notice.”

Instead of answering, Liam leaned against the doorfras his gaze flicked over her face. When Izzy made a

move to step around him, he shifted, blocking her again. Her jaw tightened.

“Move,” she said, her voice sharp as she gestured to the side. “I'm in a hurry. | need to finish a few more things

tonight.”

“Are you angry?” Liam asked, tilting his head slightly as his eyes searched hers.

“Why would | be angry?” Izzy shot back, her arms falling to her sides as her frustration grew. She noticed him

and Anna looking at each other earlier and for sunknown reason, she felt... irritated.

Liam’s smirk deepened. “I don’t know. You tell me.”

Izzy rolled her eyes and took a step forward, determined to push past him, but he didn’t budge. Instead, he

leaned closer, his proximity forcing her to tilt her head back slightly.

“Are you jealous?” he asked, his voice low enough that it made her chest tighten involuntarily.

“Jealous?” she repeated, scoffing. “I'm not jealous. Don't flatter yourself.”

He chuckled softly, his expression unrelenting. “You sure about that?”

“Positive,” she replied, her tone clipped. She reached out to nudge him aside, but he caught her wrist, his grip

firm yet careful.

“Stop being annoying,” Izzy said, her patience wearing thin. “Mave.”

Liam's expression shifted, his smirk fading as his eyes narrowed slightly. Then, in one fluid motion, he stepped

closer, his hands finding her waist. The suddenness of it made her gasp as her bag slipped from her shoulder,

the contents scattering to the floor.

“Liam!” she snapped, her hands instinctively reaching for his chest to push him away, but he didn’t let go. His

grip on her waist tightened, pulling her closer until barely an inch separated them.

His fingers moved to her chin, tilting her face upward so her eyes locked with his. The intensity in his gaze made

her breath hitch, her hands frozen against him.

“There's no need to be jealous,” he said, his words deliberate, his thumb lightly brushing her jaw. “I only have

eyes for you.” 1zzy’s pulse quickened as she swallowed. She opened her mouth to retort, but the words caught in

her throat as his eyes held her captive. The air between them made her aware of how close they actually were.

Her hands pressed lightly against his chest, and for a brief moment, she forgot what she had been so irritated

about.

Then she suddenly chuckled. Didn't Calen say the sthing to her at one point in their relationship? “You

should stop that,” she mumbled. On her own accord, she lifted her chin and Bravely held his gaze.

Izzy tilted her chin up, her gaze steady on his as a faint smirk played on her lips. “You really...should stop that,”

she said, her words calm but carrying an edge.

“Stop what?” Liam asked.

“Whatever this is,” she replied, motioning vaguely between them “Need | remind you that we're in a contractual

relationship? This isn’t real.”

Liam's expression didn’t falter. If anything, his smirk deepened as his fingers lightly traced the curve of her

waist, sending an involuntary shiver through her. “So let’s make it real,” he said without hesitation.

A flash of surprise glinted in Izzy's eyes. She blinked up at him, her brow furrowing as she leaned back slightly,

her hands still pressed against his chest. “And what exactly is in it for me?”

Liam chuckled, the sound low and almost smug as he let one hand slip from her waist to brush against a strand

of hair framing her face. “Let’s see. I'm handsome, I'm rich, and | know how to treat a woman. That's not a bad

deal?”

Izzy narrowed her eyes, the corners of her lips twitching like she was fighting a smile. “Those sound like recycled

pickup lines.”

He leaned in, his breath warm against her ear as his voice dropped, making her pulse race. “And | can satisfy you

in bed. Isn't that something you want, Izzy? Something you deserve?”

Her stomach tightened at his words, her heartbeat quickening despite her best efforts to keep her composure.

She turned her head slightly, their faces mere inches apart. “You're bold. I'll give you that.”

“Why not take the chance?” Liam asked, his hand sliding back to her waist, pulling her flush against him. “It's

just a relationship. If you decide it’s not what you want, you can leave anytime. File for divorce. | won't stop you.

But if you agree to be with me, | promise I'll never let you down.”

Izzy studied him carefully. Her fingers twitched against his chest as if debating whether to push him away or pull

him closer. “Men always say that to get what they want,” she said, her voice steady despite the fluttering in her

chest.

Liam grinned, his eyes locking onto hers as he lowered his face until their foreheads nearly touched. “I've

already got what | want, Izzy,” he murmured, his gaze dropping briefly to her lips before returning to her eyes.

“But | want more. How about you?”

Her breath caught, the heat between them impossible to ignore. For a moment, neither of them moved, the

tension thick and electric. Izzy's hands tightened against his chest, her body caught between the instinct to pull

away and the undeniable draw of his presence.

“Liam...” she started, her voice faltering as her resolve wavered. Something inside her mind tells her that she

should say no. Sadly, the other part of her wanted the opposite.

“Say yes,” he whispered, his thumb brushing against her waist in slow, deliberate circles. “I'll give you

everything. More than anyone else ever could.”

Her pulse hammered in her ears, her body betraying her as her eyes flicked down to his lips. She hated how

tempting he was, how easy it would be to give in. But she wasn’t ready to make it that simple for him.

“I'll think about it,” she finally said, pushing against his chest just enough to create sspace between them.

She just had her heart broken, and her trust destroyed. It would be unfair for her to commit to something without

done yet. “Take all the tyou need,” he said, his smirk

Izzy turned sharply, her cheeks flushed as she bent to pick up her bag. Before she could reach it, Liam was

already there. He scooped it up effortlessly and held it out toward her, his movements calm- as always.

Her eyes narrowed as she straightened. “What's this?” she asked, her hands on her hips. “I haven't agreed to

make this official...”

Yes,” he said. “You haven't agreed yet. But that doesn’t mean | can’t treat you like my wife. After all, we are in a

contractual relationship.”

He stepped closer, the space between them shrinking once more. “Am | not obligated to do everything to ensure

that the contract is... fulfilled?”

Izzy's lips parted in surprise, her sharp retort caching in her throat. His words were laced with a challenge she

wasn't sure she wanted to answer. Her fingers curled around the strap of her bag, but she didn’t move to take it

from him just yet, her pulse quickening under his steady gaze.

He tilted his head slightly, his smirk daring her to argue. The casual confidence in his stance was infuriating, yet

undeniably alluring. Izzy's fingers twitched as she debated snatching the bag from his hand, but something in his

gaze made her pause.
