“Apparently, the café didn’t have CCTV,” Liam said as he handed her a cup of coffee. “Not even the nearby

establishment had their own cameras.”

Izzy accepted the coffee and nodded, her expression neutral as she sipped. The two sat quietly in the waiting

area for a moment, the sterile scent of the hospital surrounding them. “I was already expecting that,” she

mumbled.

“Don’t let this bother you,” Liam said, his tone steady.

“I'm not worried,” Izzy replied, lowering the cup. She leaned back in her chair. “They'll accuse me. That much is

obvious.”

Liam's gaze sharpened. “And you're fine with that?”

“Let them,” Izzy said with a shrug. “It doesn’t change the truth. Besides...” She glanced at him from the corner

of her eye. “I'm just waiting.”

Liam tilted his head, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “Waiting for what?”

“For them to make their move,” she replied. “Why? You worried about me?”

He chuckled softly and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “Hardly. But | am curious. What's your

next step?”

Izzy stood, brushing imaginary lint off her jacket. “You'll see soon enough.” She glanced down at him. “You

should go home.”

Liam shook his head with a grin. “I'm here for the show.”

Izzy smirked faintly. “Suit yourself. | need the restroom.”

As she walked off, Liam's playful expression vanished. His eyes narrowed, his entire demeanor shifting. He pulled

out his phone and dialed a number. It only rang once before being answered.

“Mondo,” he said curtly. “Updates?”

Mondo answered immediately. “The Weiss family is in disarray. Mr. Weiss'’s illegitimate children have made their

presence known. It’s causing serious tension. The plan to let them cearly in the morning for everyone to see

was indeed perfect. Many employees saw them and knew about the chaos that followed.”

A slow smile crept across Liam's face. “Good. | take it Cecil Weiss moved out of the mansion?”

“Yes,” Mondo confirmed. “She left this afternoon.”

Liam sneered. “So, they still have enough energy to stir trouble for my woman, despite everything falling apart.

Interesting.”

There was a pause on the other end. “What's the next move, boss?”

“Leak the story to the media,” Liam ordered. “Let the board members handle the rest. If they have tto play

games with us, they can handle public scrutiny too.”

“Understood,” Mondo replied.

The call ended. Liam stared at his phone for a moment before muttering, “Let's see how you handle chaos, Weiss

family.” He leaned back in his chair, an amused gleam in his eyes.

She pouted. Since they got married, Liam has been cooking for her and even sending her food when she’s too

busy to eat. Meaning, she had been eating really well in the past few weeks. Now, Izzy noticed that her cheeks

had actually gotten a little chubbier.

“I didn’t expect you to still be here,” a voice interrupted her thoughts.

Izzy turned to see Cecil standing by the door, watching her. She waited for Cecil to move toward the sink, but

instead, the older woman walked to each cubicle, quietly checking them one by one. Once satisfied, Cecil

approached Izzy.

“I am going hsoon,” Izzy said.

She quickly moved toward the door, but Cecil stepped in front of her, blocking her path.

“What's the rush?” Cecil asked. “Why not wait for Monica to wake up?”

Izzy stared at her. Something was off. Cecil's demeanor was colder than usual. “Are you staying until she does?”

“Of course, Monica was carrying my grandchild,” Cecil replied, stepping closer to the sink.

Izzy's lips curved into a polite smile. “That's good. You should stay. But since it wasn’t my grandchild, | don’t see

why | can’t go home.”

Cecil's expression hardened. “I didn’t expect this from you. | always thought you were kind. Turns out you're

cruel enough to harm a child.”

Izzy froze for a second, caught off guard. “You think I hurt Monica?” She crossed her arms. “Really?”

“Didn’t you?” Cecil took a step forward, her eyes sharp. “You were jealous. Jealousy can push people to do

terrible things. You harmed an innocent child.”

Izzy blinked and then chuckled softly, shaking her head. “Wow. | didn’t think you had such a low opinion of me.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll be sure to remember it.”

She stepped forward, attempting to pass Cecil, but Cecil shifted to block her path again. “You'll be hearing from

my lawyers. I'm going to sue.”

Izzy's expression shifted to one of calm indifference. She met Cecil's gaze head-on. “Go ahead,” she said. “Make

sure you have evidence when you do because if you don’t-"

“Monica’s statement would be enough,” Cecil said. “You pushed her knowing she was pregnant and caused her

to miscarry. You killed the future heir of the Weiss Family. It's that simple.”

Izzy pursed her lips. She stared at Cecil’s cunning expression. “I'm guessing you wanted something?”

Cecil snorted. “You are still as smart as ever.”

“So you won't sueunless | do something?” Izzy asked.

“Naturally,” Cecil smiled. “Things are always like that... aren't they? Everything has a price.”

“And that includes your unborn grandchild,” Izzy didn’t hide the sarcasm in her voice. “What an eye-opener.”

“Oh, please... there is no need to show your sarcasm in front of me,” Cecil said, smiling.

Izzy shook her head to herself. Who would have guessed that the well-regarded Madam Weiss had a side like

this? In the past, Izzy had always treaded carefully around Cecil, which was probably why the woman had never

“You marry my son,” Cecil said. “I wouldn't be suing you, and | will get rid of Monica for you?

Izzy looked at the woman in disbelief. “Marry Calen?” That's unexpected.

“Calen and your relationship had been destined a long tago. | don’t see any reason why you wouldn't want

to be with him aside from that small... mishap.”

“A mishap?” Izzy repeated. “You call your son cheating with my cousin a mishap?” Why was she making it sound

like Calen stumbled into Monica and the two accidentally fell on top of a bed? How absurd!

“Men make mistakes, Izzy. Women? Prostitutes? All men do it. Sdo it for fun, sto feed their ego. But

they would never give their hearts to other women. You should be aware of how treacherous a man’s heart is,”

Cecil calmlysaid. “Just like them, Calen just made a mistake. Marry him, and | will make sure that no one else will

know that you harmed... an unborn child.”
