“Weiss Family? Calen’s Weiss Family?” Izzy frowned, glancing out the car window as the familiar streets of San
Francisco cinto view. Moments ago, Liam had revealed a startling piece of information about the family. “Are
you saying that CEO Weiss really-” She stopped mid-sentence, unable to finish as the weight of his words sank
in.
According to Liam, Renard Weiss had a son and daughter before he ever met Cecil. So Calen wouldn't be
bothering her for a while. She didn’t know if Liam was telling the truth, but he seemed really confident about it.
Izzy shifted in her seat, her fingers tapping lightly on her knee. This was entirely new to her. Renard Weiss had
spent years grooming Calen to take over the Weiss Corporation. Everything from his education to his carefully
planned role in the company-had been meticulously orchestrated to ensure his eventual rise to power. Renard
never failed to emphasize this point every the spoke to Izzy.
But now, this revelation threw everything into question. What could it mean for Calen’s future? For the
company’s future?
She looked at Liam, the gears in her head clicking into place. “Wait,” she said, her gaze narrowing
“The board meeting that's happening now... Do you think this has something to do with it?”
as the thought struck her.
The car slowed as it approached a red light, the hum of traffic filling the silence. Liam adjusted his cufflinks; his

certain-the situation within the Weiss Family is far more complicated than it appears.”
Izzy glanced at the tall buildings ahead, her grip tightening on her bag. The meeting wasn’t far now, and
whatever was waiting for her inside would likely bring more revelations than she was prepared for.
He looked outside the car and into the enormous building of the Weiss Company. “I guess I'll see you later?” He
smirked and didn’t wait for her to say another word as he leaned down and captured her lips.
“Did you hear the rumor?” one employee whispered.
“I didn’t just hear it-1 saw it,” another replied quickly. “CEO Weiss walked in with two people earlier. Then
MadWeiss followed them into the boardroom. It looked tense. The entire floor is on edge.”
Izzy froze, sitting quietly in the cubicle, her attention drawn to the hushed conversation happening just a few
feet away. She had stepped into the restroom to gather her thoughts before heading to her office, but now, the
words filtering through the thin walls made her stop in her tracks.
Izzy stayed perfectly still, her ears straining to catch
every word.
“They're saying there was screaming,” the first employee added. The kind you don’t want to hear in a place like
this.”
“I heard it too,” the second said. “And then the strangest thing happened-the entire top floor was cleared out.
Security's everywhere. No one is allowed up there unless summoned.”
Izzy's brows furrowed, her heartbeat quickening. Screaming? Security swarming the top floor? Did something
happen to the
CEO?
“It gets even weirder,” the first whispered again, lowering their voice. “Apparently, everyone in the building is
going to have to sign an NDA before they leave today.”
Izzy's eyes widened as her stomach churned. An NDA? That wasn’t standard practice-at least, not to this extent.
Whatever

was happening was bigger than she had anticipated.
“What do you think it's about?” one of them asked.

“Who knows?” the other answered. “But if they're going to these lengths to shut everyone up, it’s got to be
something huge.”
Izzy remained frozen in the stall. Whatever was happening on the top floor where the CEO's office was located
wasn't just a routine meeting. Tightening her grip on her bag, she resolved to find out exactly what was going
on.
Izzy stepped out of the restroom, her thoughts still tangled in the fragments of conversation she’d overheard.
She made her way to her office, her heels clicking against the polished floor, the buzz of the employees’ chatter
following her through the halls.
When she entered her office, Anna was already waiting by her desk, holding a cup of coffee in one hand and a
tablet in the other.
“Ms. Rossi,” Anna began, placing the coffee on Izzy's desk. “The board meeting has been canceled.

Izzy paused, setting her bag down on the chair. “Canceled?” she asked. “Why?”
Anna adjusted her glasses and checked her tablet. “I don’t have the full details, but there's talk of an issue
within the Weiss Family. From what | heard, CEO Weiss and MadWeiss were arguing, and even Calen Weiss
was there trying to mediate. It’s all anyone on the top floor is talking about.”
Izzy's expression grew solemn as she processed Anna’s words. She sat down behind her desk, her fingers
brushing the edge of her coffee cup, though she didn’t take a sip.
“Did anyone mention specifics?” 1zzy asked, leaning forward slightly.
“No, not that I've heard,” Anna replied, shaking her head. “But security's tight, and the employees who were up
there are being told to stay quiet. Whatever's going on, it must be serious.
Izzy nodded, dismissing Anna with a wave. “That's all for now. Letknow if you hear anything else.”
As Anna left, Izzy leaned back in her chair, her thoughts returning to what Liam had told her earlier. Renard
Weiss had a son and daughter before meeting Cecil. The timing of this revelation, combined with the sudden
tension in the Weiss Family, wasn’t a coincidence.
Her brows furrowed as she tapped her fingers lightly against the desk. How did Liam even know about this? If it
caught Cecil off guard, this had to be something Renard had just recently revealed-or something someone else
had uncovered.
Izzy stared out of the large window behind her desk, her mind working through the pieces. What the hell is going
on here? For sweird reason, her gut was telling her that Liam knew more than what he told her.
Izzy reached into her bag and pulled out her phone, her thumb hovering over the screen as she scrolled to
Liam’s number. Just as she was about to press the call button, her phone buzzed with an incoming call.
She glanced at the screen, frowning at the unfamiliar number. For a moment, she debated letting it go to
voicemail, but with a sigh, she swiped to answer.
“It's Monica-please, don’t hang up,” cMonica's voice on the other end of the line.
