Chapter 100
“Your grandfather built the Rossi Group from the ground up, entirely by his own effort. He worked relentlessly to
make it what it is today. But on the road to success, he made his share of enemies,” Liam said, leaning back as

Izzy's eyes brightened at his words. He wasn’t denying it-her grandfather had wanted Liam to the situation

Noticing her reaction, Liam sighed and continued, “Outwardly, your grandfather was the sole pillar of the Rossi
Group. But behind the scenes, there were relatives... wolves in sheep's clothing. | believe he wanted to shield
you from them.”
Izzy frowned, confusion crossing her face. “Relatives? I've never even met them. | didn’t know they existed.”
“That's because your grandfather made sure of it. He deliberately kept them out of your life. After his passing,
Attorney Alcaraz stepped in to ensure you remained distant from those people, protecting you from their
influence,” Liam said, his gaze drifting to the large window. After a pause, he added, “But there’s another layer
to why you've been safe all this time.”
“And what's that?” Izzy asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
“Your aunt and Monica,” Liam replied simply.
Izzy's brows knitted together in confusion. “What do you mean?
“With them in the picture, you weren't seen as a threat to the Rossi Group,” Liam explained.
Izzy blinked. Now that she thought about it, being with Amalia and Monica had actually made her weak. She

was just a stupid, easily manipulated heiress. However, now it was different.
Aside from the fact that she was married to Liam, she had distanced herself from Monica and Amalia. The people
who were closely watching her should already know that.
“So, you are tellingthat these people will soon make their presence known,” Izzy said.
“Precisely,” he smirked.
Izzy leaned forward. “Then there’s another thing I'd like to ask you.”
“Go on...” He nodded.
“Can you helpfind out who killed my parents?” she asked.
36 Hours Later
Izzy massaged her neck as the pilot announced their arrival at LAX after an exhausting 18-hour flight from
Macau. Despite the luxury of the first-class cabin, sleep had been elusive, and she felt the strain in her muscles.
She stood, stretching slightly, before allowing Liam to help her retrieve her belongings from the overhead
compartment.
They exited the plane together, stepping into the terminal where the bustling energy of Los Angeles greeted
them. Izzy adjusted her bag over her shoulder as they made their way toward the airport exit.

Outside, Calen’s secretary, Albert, approached them the moment he saw Izzy. “Miss Rossi, the ampany has
prepared a car for you,” he said, gesturing toward a sleek black vehicle parked nearby, “Please cthis way.”
Izzy shook her head. “Thank you, but I'll be riding with Liam,” she said, nodding toward the car Liam had
arranged.
Albert hesitated for a fraction of a second before bowing slightly “Understood.” He turned on his heel and walked
briskly back to the waiting car, where Calen sat in the back seat.
Albert quickly leaned down to relay the message. Almost immediately, Calen’s hands clenched into fists as he
processed the news, his knuckles whitening as he slammed one of them against the seat in frustration. His jaw
tightened, and his eyes narrowed as he looked out the tinted window. From where he sa he could see Izzy and
Liam walking hand in hand toward their car.
“Did you take care of what | asked?” Calen asked abruptly, his gaze still fixed on the pair outside.
Albert straightened. “Yes, everything has been handled.”
Calen leaned back against the seat, his movements sharp. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep
breath. “And the abortion?”
“It was a success,” Albert replied without hesitation.
Meanwhile, Monica stared at the tea in front of her, her expression twisted into something unpleasant. She didn’t
bother to hide her disdain as her fingers tapped against the edge of the delicate porcelain cup.
“Do you dislike tea?” the woman across from her asked.
Monica lifted her eyes to meet Cecil's. Calen’s mother sat composed, her hands folded neatly on the table,
watching Monica with a look that felt more like an interrogation than casual conversation.
“I find it disgusting,” Monica said bluntly, pushing the cup away.
Cecil snorted softly, then shifted her attention to the papers on the table between them. Nestled among the
documents were several ultrasound images. She picked one up and held it lightly, her eyes scanning the black-
and-white picture.before placing it back on the table.
“So,” Cecil began, her gaze returning to Monica. “What's your gplan? Did you honestly think Calen would
marry you just because you had his child?”
Monica's jaw tightened, but she quickly masked her irritation. “Don’t be ridiculous. I'm not stupid,” she said,

“Then what do you want?” Cecil asked, leaning slightly forward. “Did you expectto raise this child for you?
Play grandmother while you run off to live your life?”
Monica's lips curled into a tight smile. She was not expecting this reaction, but she was already here.“l need
money,” she said plainly. She had just received the money Calen promised her and thought he owed her more
than that. What was wrong with asking for more money as compensation? “Enough to disappear. | won't bother
you, your family, or Calen. You'll never hear fromagain.”
To her surprise, Cecil's shoulders shook as a sharp laugh escaped her. Monica's smile faltered, and her brows
knitted together. “What's so funny?”

Cecil leaned back in her chair, tapping her manicured nails against the table as if considering her next words.
“You expectto pay you to go away? Is that really what you think?”
Monica's eyes narrowed. “What's your alternative? Keephere Letbe a problem for Calen and your
family? | know you wanted your son to marry Izzy, but that’s not going to happen witharound.”
Cecil tilted her head slightly, a faint smirk tugging at her lips. “I've handled worse problems than you, Monica.
You're ambitious, I'll give you that, but don’t think for a second that you're in control of this situation.”
Monica narrowed her eyes. Clearly, this was something wrong with this woman!
