Chapter 35 Zion said, "The car is parked in the hospital's underground garage. I'll have someone take you both there. Selena, just tell the driver where you want to go and be back by six o'clock. Don't stay out too late, or I'll worry about you." He handed a new phone to Selena, inputting his number before reluctantly sending her off to the parking garage, watching as we got into the car.

Selena leaned forward to say a few words to the driver. Her voice was too low forto hear clearly, but I caught bits and pieces-something about a memorial and an old place. Once she finished speaking, the car started, and Zion was left behind.

As we drove away from the hospital, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions while watching the building shrink in the distance.

I had thought getting out would be a challenge. It had taken days to even get a chance to call Sylvia, and if that didn't work out, I would have to wait even longer. Yet here, leaving the hospital was as simple as speaking a word to Selena.

If I wanted to return to Carzonia, I just had to wait for the right moment to mention it to her when she was in a good mood and as long as she didn't catch on to my true intentions.

These thoughts lightened my mood considerably.

"Selena, where are we headed?" I asked.

She simply replied, "You'll see soon enough! It's a surprise!" We soon arrived at Wonderland Park. Wonderland Park was the largest and most famous amusement park built in Adenville over the last three years.

When it first opened, she had insisted I go with her, but at that time, I was busy with several projects, so I had to turn her down. I remembered how she had argued withover the phone that day, and after that, she never mentioned the amusement park again.

"Mr. Cabot, are you still working on the sprojects?" One of the staff greeted us warmly upon seeing Selena. "Mr. Cabot?" I frowned, feeling a bit off about their greeting.

"What's wrong with you? My husband's last nis Davenport, not Cabot. That guy was just my younger brother," Selena coldly pointed out, her expression looking not particularly pleased.

The staff member, realizing their mistake, quickly apologized, "I'm sorry. I mistook you for someone else." They looked at Selena with a complicated expression.

She seemed a bit guilty toward me, for her tone softened. "Hud, what do you want to play? Let's do it together." I looked at the towering roller coaster and listened to the screams of thrill-seekers echoing around us. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "The roller coaster. I've never been on one. Let's go together." She was surprised by my choice, staring atwith disbelief. "That's a bit challenging. Hud, are you serious?"

When I didn't respond, she tried to talkout of it. "Hud, you havela of fear of heights. Maybe it's best not to go. What if something happens?" Her concern annoyed me.

"You said I should choose for myself, so whatever I decide is my choice. If you don't want to go, then you don't 上 have to." Reluctantly, she agreed.

One's suffering often stemmed from their own inability; I was not incapable. People could beliminated, but they could not be defeated. Sometimes, it was necessary to face one's challenges head-on.
