Chapter 325 Ten minutes later, Cheryl stepped out of the elevator on the 22nd floor.
Following the signs at the scene, she went to collect her queue number. The employee handing out the numbers glanced at Cheryl with a flicker of amazement flashing in her eyes. She thought that Cheryl was truly beautiful.
The employee quickly regained her composure and handed the number to Cheryl, politely saying, "Ms. Sutton, please wait in line over there." Cheryl gave a slight nod and replied courteously, "Okay. Thank you." Holding the queue number in her hand, she felt even more anxious. She murmured under her breath, "You can do this, Cheryl." This was her one and only chance to turn things around.
The waiting room was packed with people. A single glance was enough to estimate that there were at least a hundred people inside. Among them were several well-known B- and C-list actresses, each having pulled strings and used their connections to secure a chance at this audition.

Yet despite this, they still flocked here for a chance to audition. Because this was a by none other than Marsha Newton, the renowned director! At the front of the room sat Yvette Herschel, who was dressed in an elegant white dress. With her arms crossed and her chin slightly raised, her beautiful face carried an air of arrogance.
A group of women surrounded her. Among them, Barbie Sanders, dressed in casual attire, glanced at Yvette and sighed. "Yvette, with you here, the rest of us don't stand a chance. It looks like the role of the second female lead is definitely yours." Yvette had been nominated multiple times for Best Supporting Actress. Now, if she landed this role, she could very well aim for Best Supporting Actress again.
Hence, Yvette was determined to win this role.
Yvette was very pleased with Barbie's words. She glanced at her, still acting modest by saying, "That's not true. It's a fair audition. Whoever has the best skills will get the role." Many people rolled their eyes internally at this statement. If Yvette was selected, it would be proof that she had the best skills, implying that the others lacked talent.
But outwardly, everyone smiled flatteringly at her, nodding in agreement. "You're right, Ms. Herschel." Everyone knew full well that this role was practically Yvette's already, so no one wanted to offend her.
Barbie, being particularly sharp, continued smiling and flattering Yvette. Honestly, Yvette, with your looks and acting skills, no one in the industry fits this role better than you." If Yvette shot to fwith this role, Barbie could gain plenty of benefits too by latching on to her as a close friend.
Pleased by the compliment, Yvette curled her lips into a smile. "Everyone here is very talented." Amid the shower of praises, Cheryl walked in from the entrance, dressed in a simple T-shirt and ina jeans. She instantly attracted everyone's attention. Her faded jeans and slightly stretched-out white T-shirt practically screamed "poor." She looked completely out of place in the waiting room full of glamorously dressed women.
Yet her exquisitely beautiful face was eye-catching. She was like a delicate hibiscus flower, pure and elegant.
Murmurs spread through the crowd. "She's pretty. Is she here to audition too?" "If she's here, she must be auditioning for the second female lead. Look, she's holding a queue number." Their gazes shifted to Cheryl's hand. Surely enough, she was holding a number card.

Anyone who cto audition for Marsha's production had to haven slevel of acting ability. If that where were the case, Yvette's position might not be as secure as it seemed.
Yvette frowned as she studied Cheryl's face, an uneasy feeling m creeping into her heart. She softly asked Barbie, "Is she a newcomer?" A woman with no reputation should not be a threat.
But Yvette had thoroughly analyzed the script and understood it better better than anyone else. She knew that this woman's face was perfect for the role of the supporting female lead in Crown of Destiny.
