Ignoring the pain, I pushed myself upright. "Caden, you finally cto see me!" His eyes dropped to my wrist, and he sighed deeply.
He handedthe fire lilies, his voice sharp and cold. "Don't do anything foolish again." A wave of warmth flooded me. He still cared.
"Caden, thank you! How did you know fire lilies are my favorite?" I asked, gazing at him, my heart swelling.
"Rest up," Caden replied, his tone flat. “I have things to take care of." Without another word, he turned and walked out, his back retreating into the hall.
As I watched him go, the warmth in my chest quickly turned to ice.
Caden, I won't give up on you that easily.

The helicopter descended slowly. After a long, grueling journey, Yura, the team, and I finally arrived in the Harford Mountain area.
Even though I had steeled myself for this moment, the sight that greeted us still took my breath away.
At the base of the mountain, the village lay in ruins. The roads were clogged with broken wood and shattered buildings. Most of the homes were reduced to rubble. Boulders had fallen from th iff's above, and the ground was littered with the twisted bodies of livestock and werewolves alike.
The devastation was beyond anything I had imagined. Yura staggered, her body swaying, barely able to stay upright.
I rushed to steady her. "Yura, don't be scared." Yura drew a deep breath, her shoulders trembling slightly as she nodded in silent agreement.
"This should be the place," I muttered, my voice a whisper as I checked the compass.
The Harford Mountain area stretched out before us, vast and unforgiving. I had already asked Anthony to pinpoint Timothy's likely location.

We will," I said, trying to ease her fears.
I understood the urgency. The first shock had passed, but we had no idea when the aftershocks might hit. Every second that ticked by could cost more lives.
We had to find Timothy.
I was about to take another step when I noticed Yura hadn't moved. She stood there, staring blankly ahead.
I grabbed her arm, gently pulling her forward. "Con, let's go. According to the map, there's a werewolf village up ahead. Timothy could be there. We need to check." Yura snapped out of her daze and quickly followed me.
The village wasn't far, but the path had been grueling.
"Rosie, Yu, wait up!" Ryan called, finally breaking free from his shock.
We reached the village's edge, and my heart sank.

A few of the werewolf bodyguards who had accompanied us were already m e helping the villagers, while the werewolf doctors from the rescue team spread out, attending to the wounded. "Please, help those children over there. They're seriously hurt," I called out to one of the doctors.
Yura was still searching, but it seemed hopeless. My anxiety grew, but I couldn't ignore the others in need. I quickly spoke to another doctor.

I placed a hand on her shoulder, trying to steady her. "Aftershocks are still a threat, They're searching for anyone trapped under the rubble. We can't panic." "How can I not panic?" Yura's voice quivered with grief. "What if Timothy's..." I sighed, deeply.
The truth was, no one could promise we'd find Timothy.
Even if we did, there was no guarantee we'd get to him in time. After all, Anthony's tracking range was vast.
