Before the national selection competition, there was a regional competition. A lot of Sierra's fellow students signed up for it.

On the day of the competition, the university authorities hired a commercial bus to take every participant to the venue. Theo offered to give her a ride when he learned about the transportation arrangement, but Sierra turned him down.

The university authorities organized the students to go there on the sbus. As a student, it was her duty to be cooperative. If she were overly independent and didn't join the majority, she would be classified as a freak.

Sierra saw Jemima before boarding the bus and immediately flashed a grin. "Hi, Ms. Anderson." Jemima nodded in response. Then, she advised, "Don't give yourself any pressure. I'll be waiting for your good news." Sierra stood underneath the brilliant sun and smiled confidently. "Okay." Meanwhile, Cayden cover from another direction. When he saw Sierra, his eyes sparkled, but he quickly lowered his gaze in dejection.

As usual, Felicia went wherever Cayden was, but her smile faded when she saw what had happened. Leering at Sierra in jealousy, she approached him and combed her hair with her fingers.

"Con, let's get on the bus." Cayden hesitated, thinking of waiting for Sierra. However, Felicia saw through him and pulled him along, claiming, "Let's board the bus, Cayden." Frowning, he wanted to yank his arm free, but it was too cramped on the bus. Worried that he could be too rough and cause Felicia to fall, he forced himself to let her pull him along.

Sierra stepped onto the bus later. When she saw them, she smiled and greeted them. "Hi, Cayden." As for Felicia, she chose to ignore her.

Cayden noticed that the seat behind Sierra was empty. He got up and said to Felicia, "I need to get out." She clenched her fists and rose to her feet reluctantly.

He got out and made a beeline for Sierra. "Sierra, do you mind if I take this seat?" Shaking her head, she smiled as she held her bag. "I didn't expect you to be participating in the regional competition. I thought the university would merely recommend you to the national selection competition." "They did reserve a place for me, but I'd like to prove myself," Cayden said warmly, his eyes flashing with confidence.

Sierra sighed, joking, "Your presence makesmore stressed." He looked at her and said matter-of-factly, "Knowing how good you are, the regional competition is already in the bag."

She didn't expect him to have such a high opinion of her. After the initial surprise, she said humbly, "You're too kind, but everyone's good. The En competition is an opportunity, and I'm sure everyone's going to give it their best. It's going to be a fierce contest."

Felicia kept her ears peeled, listening in on their conversation as a wave of jealousy washed over her: Each the opened his mouth, Cayden complimented Sierra and expressed his approval of her. "Fate truly has a way of bringing enemies together." Janice scowled. She saw Cayden and Sierra chatting the moment she got onto the bus.

Then, she seemingly chose a seat nearest to Sierra on purpose. Lifting her chin, she continued condescendingly, "Sierra, the championship is still mine this time!"

Sierra glanced at Janice, chuckled, and shook her head. Then, she went back to her conversation with M Gayden talking about the competitors they might run into during the national selection competition. None of them talked about the the confessed to her. It was like things were still the way they used to be.

As the bus started going, his tight grip on his sleeves gradually loosened.
